December 25th To Light The Way

Matthew 2:2 and 10

2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.


Today we celebrate the beginning of God’s great rescue plan. Mankind had fallen into the darkness of sin which led to eternal separation from God and never-ending death. But God loves us so much that he created a great rescue mission for us. He wanted to rescue us from darkness so he sent us the Light.

In that manger was the “true Light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” (John 1:9) He had made every person by his Light. The Word was made flesh (to identify with man that he made) and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the glory of the only begotten of the Father) full of Grace and Truth. (John 1:14) The great Rescuer had come to call us out of darkness and into His marvelous Light (Colossians 1:13, 1 Peter 2:9)

As the light of the world (John 8:12) He would guide the way to salvation and shine hope to those around him. Although he suffered human weakness, he displayed God’s power, healed all, cast out demons, calmed seas, and raised dead. He showed us a loving Heavenly Father by his great light! He illuminated the way to heaven and that way was the light of FAITH! What an easy path.

Lets also rejoice with exceeding great joy for the One who came to light our pathway to the Father and eternal joy in our heavenly home!
