Harvest of Happiness

Psalm1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

We’ve been exploring how to be biblically blessed or happy from the prescription the LORD gives us in Psalm 1. So far we know the blessed person must: avoid sin (verse 1) and absorb scripture (verse 2).

Verse 3 supplies another key: always producing. The blessed one who abides and absorbs God‘s Truth will be planted. This implies an intentional act - being planted. You just didn’t spring up with the weeds. God put you in the good soil on the riverside. He could insure you had a constant supply of water needed for growth, maturity and fruit bearing. In ground you could improve.

His desire is we will be like a great big strong tree by the river which everyone can enjoy. We supply shade for the weary traveler. The stormy winds may blow around us but this tree bends and bows - never breaking. This tree is never parched nor withered cause it is rooted and grounded in faith and water.

No winter or brown leaves ever come here, as these leaves are always green. Green is the color of life. The tree is always bearing fruit. (Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:8) His growing season and time to produce is every season.

God makes a promise to the person who avoids sin, absorbs scripture and always produces fruit. The promise is whatsoever they do will prosper! Sounds like a successful and blessed life to me! Amen in us.
