January 9th The Divine Door

Hebrews 10:19-22

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

A barrier stood between us. On the other side was the warm, strong, generous, welcoming, forgiving, loving and holy Heavenly Father. He is exactly what we needed. On this side we were stuck with our sin, shame and death. It was so high and wide we could never make it across to those everlasting arms.

Here comes Jesus. He lives a sinless and perfect life for us, even though he was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15) He came with an unmatched love. He came determined to put a door in the barrier so we could cross to the other side. Jesus was that Divine Door.

He made a new and living way the passage says. It was consecrated for us. The word consecrated means dedicated. So He was a living door dedicated to us. When Jesus cried on the cross “it is finished“ the veil (or barrier) was torn in two. His flesh made the door. Every slashed piece of skin, every thorn puncture, every nail hole, and even his wounded side was made a door to enter the Holy place we needed to enter. The blood of Jesus broke through the barrier.

Faith in this dedicated divine door is the key to attaining life eternal on the other side. Let’s praise HIM and tell others of the Divine Door of life.
